Fitted the Burton tracking adjusters today, what nicely made bits of kit, I do love the Dutch!

How much should the front wheels toe in/out? Or should they not? How do I measure this.

My 2cv is lower at the front than at the back if that makes a difference.

did you miss the bit when I checked the tracking on Hetty last weekend?

Anyway, either use the method outlined in Haynes or try the setup as in the photograph below, with string lines tensioned by bungee cords at one end, aiming for a couple of millimetres toe out.

Don't forget to have someone hold the steering wheel in the central position whilst you're winding away at those shiny bits.
The track rod end housings need to be centralised in their arc of movement on the steering arm balls as well...

I saw you working magic with string! D*lly has peculiar tyre wear so hoping this may correct it.

Whats peculiar about it?

if it wears one side of the tyre on both tyres then its tracking ( inside edge too much toe out-lengthenn tie rods. Outside edge wear toe in too much shorten arms)

if it wears jusr one tyre( usually inside edge) then its a kingpin or a damaged arm.

That's exactly what it was - I've changes the kingpin but the wheels dont sit parallel, it's noticeable.

best check it over make sure they have centralised the adjustment and that the steering arms are centred in the track rod end housings etc

brake pads and disks worn out need new shock absorbers by any chance?
