Post Removing an oil cooler... without breaking it...
Hi all,
Are there any top tips/gotchas when it comes to removing an oil cooler? I've managed to break the oil feed pipes when trying to remove a sick one from my van... and then managed a repeat performance on a spare motor that was supposed to be providing a replacement cooler.

Not too much brute force, just plenty of ignorance...

I do have another one I'd like to use, especially having seen the price of a new one! :o

Thanks all

Steve

flood the pipe area with diesel or parrafin for a day or so then rather thn try to un do the nut in one go just crack it and wiggle it back and forth by a tiny amount keep increasing how far you move it as it frees off

you might get lucky!

and lots of copper grease on re assembly
