Why do you need to swap the engine?
Box, yes - I wouldn't be trusting that input shaft. I suspect somebody let the engine's weight sit on it whilst trying to persuade that incorrect clutch to mate up.
Well that was me with the incorrect clutch, some cock at the local motor factors place sourced that for me...Looked right and fitted on nicely, but obviously the wrong one...and engine crane was used in the removal and re-fitting....I dare say in its 6 years or so sitting in people back/front gardens..the engine must of been removed a few times!!!!!!!!!!!
I would like a spare engine just incase i suppose, Or one I could strip down and rebuild knowing it might last a while, Knowing my luck something will happen to the engine next!!!Just covering my Back really!!
I've heard whispers that there is a Gearbox guru somewhere around on one of the forums, does anyone have a contact for him, As It might be worthwhile getting the gearbox I already have rebuild rather than try and found another one...If you know what I mean!!
And jon (spanners) did say that this one was fitted with a lower ratio 4 gear or higher can't quite work it out in my head at present, anyway so it didn't run out of steam till you were at the wrong side of 100mph!!!!!
