 Re: Assembling a Visa engine
Harley, I use petrol or thinners and clean cloth, followed with a blow gun & compressor... Photograph on page 61? On later cases, the recess for the O ring had been deleted, so maybe that O ring setup wasn't a complete success... ken Harley wrote: Will do Viking.
What about cleaning the engine casing, i have cleaned the mating surfaces with a scraper, then should i degrease then use warm soapy water?
Ken, i think the item you are reffering is the crankcase seal, 64.1D in my Hanes manual (which i found, my mate was using it as a paperweight) althought there is a larger square cut seal i have not researched yet. Another note is that on later engines "Bypass valve duct O-ring" is not fitted...?
Cheers

Harley Even better, ask Jost (Visa engine expert man) After degreasing, stick it in your dishwasher and you'll see

 Re: Assembling a Visa engine
i purchased an O-ring from a bearing supply store, perfect fit, maybe to perfect, no/not much room for it to expand... I may have to mortgage the house to cover the costs, 30cents...
