Post Re: O=ring between cylinder head and barrel
Thanks to you all for these comments.
The engine case is clearly 2CV, with points box as normal. marked as A06/635 on a red label.,
The cylinders are Visa heads and barrels and I would assume the greater displacement.
I havent counted the teeth on the ring gear, but I think it is probably 2CV.
Everything else seems normal 2CV
The carb appears to be 26/35 with the idle cutoff solenoid.
Is there anything else I should look for or be concerned with?

2cv cases are better and if yours is a hybrid someone went to a great deal of trouble to build a nice engine

not really the cases have to be machined and idealy welded but top hat sections can be made for the pushrod tubes.

its not just a case of throwing all the bits together

Ooh, I'd forgotten they did a two-pot Axel. I'd have thought that would have been a normal Wheezer/LNA lump, though, rather than a hybrid 2cv/Wheezer one.

wasn't, it was a wheezer

just the engine Nos dont match...A06/635.
Letter usually the car name V06 =visa with a 0.6l engine. A suggests 2cv variant but 635 doesnt match so >Ping< Axel = A prefix 0.6l engine

right just need some photos

Not the "marketing" name, but the internal model ID, as on the chassis plate. CXs are "MA", with a 2.5 engine plate saying "M25". Dunno what the Axel would be, but I doubt it'd be an A.

Visas were VD - Voiture Dimunuee. Somebody at CitUK just managed to stop that being the actual badge, too...
