Post Re: Rear Sway Bar
Sorry Ken, that's a bit too intellectual for me. I'm sure car manufacturers do make theirs out of something suitable (spring steel), but if I was making one it would only be for experimental reasons, and in those situations I like to start with the cheapest, simplest solution and work through them until one works. Perhaps it would break 6 months down the line, but that would have given me enough time to decide if having one was a benefit, and if the rate was about right, and whether to invest in a properly made one.

Post Re: Rear Sway Bar
ive got 2 ami super rolling chassis both have rear anti rollbars on them. 1 has the service van body shell (whats left of it) sat on it down the barn. the other is at dads house in the stable with a dyane body shell sat on it. i have a look at the 1 at dads house and see if there is clearence to fit to 2cv running gear. if somebody wishes to borrow 1 to remake some. it shouldnt be a problem to remove. front 1s fit ok but never tried to fit a rear 1

The problem is that different grades of steel will behave very differently - so the rate will be very different.

ha given the ammount of suspension travel you could hoon into a corner with a mild steel sway bar and come out the other side with a permanent lopsided gait as the bar takes on a new "set"*
