Well I've now got the louder clacky indicator stalk thanks to Spanners, but to wire it up I'm guessing I have to undo the dash... When I unscrew it can I expect just to pull it off and the fuel gauge and speedo to remain connected or does it involve more fiddling than that?

You don't need to take the dash off to do the indicator stalk, just undo the bottom of the unit and remove the wires. At least that's how I did it but there weren't any wires on my replacement to begin with so perhaps there is a better way?

iirc, dismantling the switch allows the three wires, complete with terminals, to be removed from the unit being replaced, then installed into the 'new' switch.

I've just dismantled the new switch. The red wire, which goes to the part which I assume makes the clacky sound, seems to just go into an electrical bit... there dosent seem to be a wire to disconnect?

Problem solved.... I took the clacky part out of the new one and just soldered it to the wire... Much louder now....

about taking the dash out, its just the four screws and then it pulls away, but have to be gentle that you dont pull any wires to hard, i took mine out the other day to get the right hand side de mister out (as it was refusing to budge)
