 Re: suspension hEight adjustment
Bear in mind that my car was registered on the 31st March 1989, but was built on the 28th April 1988, your car could be as much as a year older than it's registered new date. Edit:- Ah, just posted this reply and then read back a few replies, and noticed you had posted the RP/ORGA date...D'oh! Well, it can apply to others reading this thread

The V5 will tell you the registration date - as will checking on www.vehiclelicence.gov.ukThe number on the bulkhead will tell you the build date. They may very well be months apart. I once had two CX Athenas at the same time. They were within 120 chassis numbers of each other, built a couple of days apart - yet registered nearly a year apart. One was a "special order" colour, and registered within two or three weeks of build. The other must've been a stock order, and sat around for ages.

Date of First Registration 18 05 1988
build date looked on bulkhead many 4 digit numbers is it on the plaque thing or painted on bulkhead cos there is one painted on the bulkhead and i put it in and it came up as 1976 which i thought was a bit too different!

What have you got? There's probably a paint code (letters), the year (AM87 or AM88) and a four-digit number.

thanks anyway Get yerself a MIG welder, read up about how to do it and practice on some scrap steel until you're reasonably good at it. It would be misleading to say welding is easy, but anyone who's reasonably handy can do it to a good enough standard, at least on the non shiny bits . And at £200 a session, your welding kit will soon pay for itself.
