Post Disc Brake Caliper seals
I have just had to change the caliper seals on n/s front of our Dyane.
After bleeding the system I now appear to have the same problem that you can get with new rear brake cylinders i/e the pistons are getting pulled back into the caliper.
So on the initial application of the footbrake the pedal goes down a bit furthur than I would like.
Checking the pads there is quite a lot of free movement which makes me think that the pistons are being pulled back.

New discs / pads 5k ago and a new master cylinder very recently.
The brakes were very good before I changed the seals, even with a LHM leak.

Any idea's

Richard,
I'd guess that the calipers had new seals fitted because the old ones were sticking.

Since the seals are designed to 'tip' slightly during application of the brakes, then withdraw the piston afterwards, maybe they're just working correctly? ;)
