Looks like my bulkhead has been repainted. Bummer...

Well good that it has been repainted. That saves me allot of work on detailing. Someone went crazy with black paint on my Trabbi after they did some welding on the shock towers.

I had to unbolt just about everything and paint the engine compartment with a foam brush and some paint I had mixed up.

I may be completely wrong but isn't the 2cv Perflux LS131 oil filter also listed for some Harley Davidsons and some Ducatis?

I've never heard of this brand of filter in the United States. WIX, Purolator and even FRAM makes an oil filter for the 2CV but have not been able to cross reference it to anything at any local autopart stores.

The weird thing is when I cross reference the WIX filter to something else (MANN), then cross reference MANN back to WIX on another website, it gives me a difference WIX number!

I suppose what I need to do is measure the size and thread pitch and the diameter of the gasket on the filter and go from there.

Years ago Autozone sold was a brand of filters called Deutsch made by Champion. The one for Fiats that was freaking huge, the largest filter they sold! Like 4 to 5 inches in diameter and 5 to 6 inches long. I have a spare engine with that same filter on it.

When I'd take it to the parts counter, the guy would ask what this went on. When I told him a Fiat, he was like, why would a 4 banger need a filter that size? That looks like something that would go on a 7 liter truck engine!

Champion apparently still makes filters but dropped the Deutsch name. I'm not sure if they are the same company that makes spark plugs.

Anyway, after they discontinued this filter, their book said this other smaller filter replaced it. I recognized this part number which was the same oil filter that fit my Jeep Wrangler.

The oil filter used on the Citroen 2CV seems to be unique to French cars. I will do some investigating to see if it crosses with a Harley Davidson. Someone told me I can use an ignition coil from a Harley Davidson already!

I did order a couple of oil filters along with an air cleaner, that special brake fluid and a silencer and clamp from that supplier here in the United States. Should be here next week.

watch the hight of the filter. A to long specimen won't fit in the space in the chassis.
