 Slight miss?
Heya, Went out today in our red 2cv and on the way home it lost major power and spitted like a miss fire. It stopped went on for a couple of miles and did it again? Is this coil or fuel. Advise please. Thanks Tom

 Re: Slight miss?
Sounds like the condensor to me. Swap it and see what happens.

 Re: Slight miss?
Most of the problems I have had with a bad coil is that when waiting at the lights, the engine just dies. It won't start for a long time. I have a spare that I quickly connect and just leave it lying on the fan cowl just behind the coil. I also have to push the car into the garage sometimes, as I have to switch off the engine, unlock the door and then the engine refuses to start.
I would guess a condensor. Fix both problems by getting 123 ignition plus a Harley coil. See Uncle Roy at ECAS. He'll sell you both for about the same amount as a very cheap rusty 2CV. I am busy saving up my pennies to do just that.

Inside they are very swiss rolls of thin foil and thin plastic, I guess they are just a bit delicate. Unless Ive just been unlucky? On the plus side it easy to replace (you can even do it with out removing the points...).
