 Re: AMI 8 trouble starting + heater controls Matt where are you? I have a few sets of ignition kicking around if you want to play with them. There are differences between the weights & cam assembly from different engines, bigger weights on M28 engine and the cam has a 'blunter' profile (thanks to Ken for pointing this out on another thread) and a shorter dwell. The bits don't mix!

Re: AMI 8 trouble starting + heater controls Well the points are back in and timed and dwell set up
It seems to have lost a little mid range torque . I guess the advance curve is slightly different to the 123
I will see how it starts in the mornings
The plugs are back out to .7 mm

so it looks like the 123 was causing the problem
