 VeloSolex engine identification
Any VeloSolex buffs out there? I'm trying to date a bike we have but instead of an engine number it has 3 letters 'L N G'. I can't find any mention of letters to identify an engine out there. Does anyone have any ideas?

Have you got a photo of the area where the number should be. All French solexes have a number - photo of the bike would be good to

 Re: VeloSolex engine identification
Hi Smyth Not all Solexi are french built so maybe the practice elsewhere was different? French replacement crankcases were supplied without numbers and rarely had the number stamped on by whoever rebuilt the engine, possibly those letters were the initials of the (re)builder? The place to go for info is the UK Velosolex club @ http://www.velosoexclubuk.com/ The main man for dating and arcane info is 'Brian Solex' - their version of Ken He is actually in the USA - this is one of his websites http://velosolex4600.over-blog.com/Hope that helps

A Paradise! I've got 2200 and 3800. VeloSolexes and 2CV's suit together well!
