Post Solex type 28 Carb linkage
On this small carb, at the starting mechanism, there are two levers on the same shaft. One operated by cable, the other spring loaded.

How tight/loose is the spring operated lever supposed to be?
In the picture above, the spring doesn't return it all the way. Is the spring too long? Is the picture showing the proper "at rest" position?

Spring seems ok it should return the choke to half way position. You pull it to start the car leave it in half position running the car for a while to warm up and than push the choke button all the way back .

Yup mine does that - the last 1/8th inch of movement is only achievable by finger on the lever on the carb, cant get the cable to close it all the way.

That makes sense.
On mine, the dimple on the longer lever was on the wrong side, and the shorter lever was bent out of the way.
Works better the right way.
