Stove black. The kind of stuff you paint on a log burner. Heat proof. Available in brushable or aerosol.

Or B&Q Barbeque paint .....  .....it stands the heat of the exhaust on my motorcycle,so 2CV engine tinware should'nt be a problem.....  ....looks good too. hth T.

I've had them powder coated before, or used normal cellulose paint, no problems.

I get some paint from B and Q called fortress and it doesn't need priming, paint for metals!small tin I think 750ml and around 18 quid ish been excellent for everything on my racer!
