Re: any Brake Caliper strip and rebuild threads?
Use the hydraulic pressure from the brake pedal (master cylinder) to push the pistons out in contact with the disc before removing the caliper. It is a pain getting the pistons out once the calipers are on the bench. Pistons are made in aluminium and teflon coated so be gentle not applying any tools on the pistons. The rest should be straight forward except placing the new seals inside the calipers. You'll find lots of sediments in the grooves where the seals are located. Be clinically clean getting rid of all built up. If not removed COMPLETELY the new seals will be impossible to fit (appears to be too big in diameter) Fitting the pistons you need to smear them with LHM and the seals too. Good luck

Thanks for that, I will get some seals sourced and ordered. I guess it's that build up that's stopping them returning nice.

I'm about to do mine, but if you fancy doing a 'how to' or just posting plenty of photos that'd be great.

it helps to have a g clamp or one of those trigger speed clamps to push the piston in - but as Viking says they are very soft aluminum with a nickasil/ceramic type coating and are easily marred, so use some form of protection. As the seals are lhm proof a slight smear of a light grease helps LHM tends to get sticky when it starts to oxidize especially with brake dust.

azl 57 is right. The newest seals are rubbish. The rubber is to soft so when you stop braking the pistons are pulled back to far. So the next time you brake the peddle way is much to big.... I have this at my Ami 8...
So please try to save the old seals.
