New pistons and barrels are installed and the heads are on loosely, one of the oil feed threads is playing up so May have to Helicoil that one tomorrow.
Bloomin gudgeon pins are tight, I had to heat the pistons in the oven, any why oh why don't we get proper cir clips to hold them in rather than these nasty spring wire affairs that risk reaching escape velocity when they exit your pliers at Mach-5.
One of the original heads was blowing at the barrel joint - it's eroded the mating face quite a bit so I'm glad I had the spares at hand. Both pistons are showing a fair amount of blow-by which accounts for the state of the oil.
All being well it should be completed tomorrow - if the weather holds.
I'm not looking forward to getting all the tinware back in place.....
