Well I replaced all the clamps on the exhaust today, and tried redoing the torpedo joints with tape and copper grease, but there is still a blow at the swan neck/torpedo joint. I can live with it, but its a shame not to get it perfect! its almost like the swan neck could do with being a half-inch longer and the torpedo a hair smaller in diameter...
While I was at it I changed engine and gearbox oil and the oil filter as I was in the mood to play mechanic. I couldn't believe the colour of both after just 6 months and only about 3000 miles

black treacle from both!
I also noticed that both of my kingpin top plugs are leaking grease, but i know they were well sealed when i did them. Could the 800-odd mile journey to the national and back have been enough to make things settle a bit? I dread the thought of trying to get them out and then re-sealed again
