Re: A Panel removal for cooling...
For a bit more balance, we drove to the Portuguese World Meeting in 1987 with the Dyane, pulling a trailer and covering the 1300 miles from Boulogne to Lisbon in 3 days. ( Time on the road each day was limited, with a 4 year old to look after. ) There were no bits of the bodywork left partially attached to promote underbonnet cooling, so maybe those big gaps underneath the engine bay have some influence on the throughput of air... ken

1986 & " The detected increment of temperature in Spain (1.5ºC) during the last century" ( http://www.uco.es/rea/publicaciones/and ... _spain.pdf if you feel like ploughing through the full text.) All I recall is that it was fairly hot in Spain and Portugal in July 1987... ken 4x4 SuperFinn wrote: ken wrote: For a bit more balance, we drove to the Portuguese World Meeting in 1987 with the Dyane, pulling a trailer and covering the 1300 miles from Boulogne to Lisbon in 3 days. Note the picture of my car in that Ben's just posted in the Registers day thread, viewtopic.php?f=6&t=4786&start=30 They've been like that for a couple of years, I ought to do some sort of scientific test to see if it actually works, but hey ho, it looks good.

Re: A Panel removal for cooling...
I ran at least two of my 2cvs without them. Not because I think they make the engine cooler or hotter, just because they're such fiddly things to get off when you want to remove the wings. I think they look better without them too.

Re: A Panel removal for cooling...
I'm off to hotter climes after spain and i didn't want to remove the said panels so i drilled holes in to aid airflow, i dunno if it's going to be beneficial, we'll see.

>whisper to Roy behind hand< Like raid Africa did Morrocco on an absolutely standard car( well with one of kens finest underpinning our efforts) and it was more reliable than all the fancy raid prepped French cars with fancy mods - but then there is no fun in that is there
