New battery and new regulator - so far so good. :?

Also read up on the operation of the dynamo/regulator/battery - now I know :D

As far as I know, there is no power going 'through' a regulator. The +ve wire allows the regulator to 'see' the voltage in the battery. It then sends a signal to the alternator/dynamo using the exciter lead to switch the dynamo on/off. The charging current is carried by the cables coming off your dynamo. As far as I can work out anyway :lol:
