I want to spend a bit more time tweaking Belinda before I subject her to any raids really, but as the area isn't far from my home I reckon next year could be a goer.

The landlady of the Tan Hill Inn was on Radio 2s Jeremy Vine's programme this lunchtime and she's currently snowed in. It seems she intends to put the pub up for sale for (I think she said) £1million.

You may have heard the national news today that Tan Hill has been cut off since New Years Eve and all the guests are still there!

So it's been a snowy few days up at Tan Hill but tomorrow all the council workers will be back after the festivities and they should start ploughing the local roads. There are still seven days to go, it really depends on whether we have any more significant snowfalls. We normally drive the whole route on the Friday before the event to make sure it is open and safe. If it is not we will take an alternative route via Reeth and up Arkengarthdale.

We have only failed to get to Tan Hill once and on that occasion we had to call it a halt at Reeth.

I have put a message on the 2CVGB website forum and this will be updated Friday evening and there will also be an update on the Les Hiboux website.

Please pass this on to anyone you know who is thinking of coming.

Best regards, see you next weekend and bring a bag of grit and a shovel just in case!”

I got e-mailed this today

Pete
