Re: French National 2010
Neil's summed up how I feel about it. I guess we've been due a pretty poor meeting as we've had so many good ones (Dunkirk, Spa, Czech, Rochefort (not that I went)).
I don't go to 2cv events expecting the organisers to start punch ups, start manhandling people who've done nothing wrong, and be told to go to bed early, or endure a shite band. Dunkirk was how a French national *should* be done. Camp where you want, do what you like and live by the 2cv spirit. Nobody got hurt, or was ever likely to be hurt.
If they spent more time making the water supply work, putting more than one bloke on the cash desk and cleaning the thunderboxes, and less time marking out pitches strictly for individual clubs, and bullying people it'd have been much, much better.
Hey ho, it werent all bad, I met a lot of people, made new friends and bought half a weeks wages worth of tat. That, I certainly can't complain about!

Followed that in my x1/9 (and a few others in front of it) up the road from Vendeuvre on Sunday for a while - I was reading 100kph on the GPS so no-one was hanging around there. Turned off after a while though to go across to Pont Audemer.

Hi all, besides all the things below it was a good and interesting camp, if a little cold at night. I must remember to pack a hot water bottle if I go camping without Janice. I am going to write to the World Meeting Organisers to ask them if they are going to adopt the same system and let French local groups book large areas in advance. If they are then I will ask about booking space for I2F fans and an old farts corner for us Dad's. I'll keep you informed IF I get a reply. Good fun, at the weekend. Good luck to Liz on the 5th June I think you are going to need it.

When the Mehari lot were having their mutter on the first day, and brought the organisers in, I was told that the areas were marked out according to the number of people who'd pre-booked listing each club. So - if they do - all we need to do is put "I2F" as the club, and Bob est ton oncle. However, we pre-booked for Salbris - and the form didn't ask about your club, so I guess not.
