Drag racing at Santa Pod

This month the West London and Surrey group is doing something very different: we visit Santa Pod Raceway on the 18th.

This is a "Run What Ya Brung" day.
If you've always dreamt of being a racer but have never got close then Santa Pod Raceway may well have the answer.
The track regularly opens its doors to the public for a series of "Run What Ya Brung" public test days.
Santa Pod Raceway in Northamptonshire offers the cheapest and most accessible track time in the UK.
For just £10 admission and £25 to "sign on", you can take your car or motorcycle out on the famous quarter-mile drag strip and test it's performance limits in a safe and legal environment.

You don't have to apply for a race licence, you don't have to tape over your lights, you don't even have to own a fast car or bike!
Any car [or solex for that matter] would do the job fine and most of the drivers who come along will be racing in normal road cars and bikes.
Some, however, may have slight modifications or even be professional racers in their drag cars and bikes but don't worry, you won't be pitched against a 300mph Top Fuel Dragster!
For more information and to see what rules apply to you visit www.rwyb.co.uk

The venue normally opens at 8.00am with the track open from 9.30am to 5pm. It is recommended you arrive before 9.30 to ensure track-time. They can only accept a limited number of sign-ons, so arrive early to avoid disappointment! Please note, track opening times are approximate and may be subject to track and weather conditions. The drag strip cannot be used in the wet.

Don't forget your driving licence!

We intend to meet at the venue at 9am.
The address is Santa Pod Raceway, Airfield Road, Podington, Wellingborough, Northants NN29 7XA
If you are coming north up the A6 then Sat Navs are unreliable, please come off at Wymington, you CAN NOT get to Santa Pod via Souldrop or Milton Ernest.

That'll be Spa weekend then.

Bugger.

Perhaps next year we should try and gatecrash a RWYB event?

there are events on 17th and 24th January next year, perhaps we could raid one and kick the year off the right way?

NEVER AGAIN!

Wonder if we can tempt the Renault 4 club into a rematch? maybe invite along various other clubs? Trabants? Morris minors?
