I did Firkin Freezing about 5yrs ago at the Barrel Inn, the highest pub in Derbyshire and it was SO Bl**DY COLD :( , I swore then, never again!! Retired to bed and was so cold, I couldn't sleep and had to put my socks back on(I hate wearing socks in bed :( ) but it was too late, my feet were blocks of ice. Got up at first light and it had snowed overnight, about 5 to 6 inches(125-150cms). Got back to the M1 at chesterfield and there was still copious amounts of snow still on car(though no sign of it anywhere else), had lots of photos taken of my car heading south(like I said, no other sign of snow). I'm getting too old for this winter camping larky.
