As a bit of an idea, that would probably work better for a WM but anyway - why don't you send out wristbands and shit before the event? might make your life easier on the gate?

We thought about this, but the postage costs take away from other things we'd rather spend money on.

I guess in future it could be added onto the booking fee, can't be that much more per ticket?

I would happily have set the price at £40-£60 a person and still think it was good value, we could have done so much more. But 2cvGB has this bizarre attitude that somehow events should cost nothing and be jam packed with things to do... I don't know what planet some people are on.

Charge £100 a ticket and it would be an EPIC festival weekend. But people have already grumbled at £30

Do you think you could have done it without the restrictive 2cvgb umbrella? Like the Fyffes safari? Or would the insurance have been prohibitive? I wonder if the membership of 2cvgb would be too reserved to try an event not connected to the club. I'm pretty sure you could have done something truely awesome. I really hope it's a good one though, the racing should be good, I don't know how much testing teams have done but its going to be a very different kettle of fish to Snetterton.

It IS going to be awesome, Emily and I have really pulled the cat out of the bag so it'll be the best 2cvGB event in years. The main thing of course is that 2cvGB underwrite it.

If there was somebody willing to put up £20k in capitol the possibilities would be awesome.

Would the racing club not be willing to underwrite it? I know how much effort and imagination you put into things, it's just a shame to hear you've been stifled by the club. I don't know what folk expect nowadays for £30, I'd be well pleased at an event lasting several days for that. I'm spending £35+ to take part in one day events, some lasting only 2hrs, and that seems cheap to me. Goodwood revival will set you back £300+ for three days and that doesn't include camping, (think £1k for the weekend) people don't have an issue paying for that.

unfortunately the racing club is grumbling about lots of stuff too

Dear Cameron /Gove that can be one of your "British Values" - to grumble about everything even when its good

Here's the latest info :)

Site Opening Times
We have use of the blue dotted area from noon on Thursday 28th - noon on Monday 1st September.

Camping
As you can see there are 2 main designated camping areas. The 'quieter camping' is slightly further from the track to lessen the noise. You're more than welcome to camp wherever you choose.

Entertainment
We've organised a Ceilidh for Friday night, come join in! It's due to finish at 2300 so not too late/noisy. Disco on Sunday night, all in the marquee/beer tent.

Beer & Cider, possibly cocktails too
Pints around the £2 mark (tbc).
Snowdonia Ale 3.6%
A delightfully refreshing pale ale brewed with a delicate combination of aromatic hops.

Madog’s Ale 3.7%
A crisp, malty, reddish coloured session bitter with a dry bitter finish.

Ysgawen 4.0%

Glaslyn Ale 4.2%
A golden coloured fruity best bitter with a well balanced hoppy finish.

Dark Side of the Moose 4.6%
A delicious dark ale with a deep malt flavour from roasted barley and a fruity bitterness from Bramling Cross hops.

Black Dragon 7.2%
From Pontypridd based Gwynt Y Ddraig this devilish cider is matured in oak barrels to produce a cider rich in colour, body and flavour with a fresh fruity aroma.

Janet’s Jungle Juice 6.0%
A proper Somerset Cider, full bodied tasty medium dry cider.

CJ’s Wench 6.0%

Biddenden Vineyard Cider 8.0%
A strong, dry cider produced from a blend of Kentish culinary & dessert apples.

Double Vision in Pink 5.2%
Strawberry fruit cider for grown-ups – not too sweet!

Wilce’s Cider 6.0%
From a family run farm in Hertfordshire, a bright and clear sparkling cider with a natural golden colour producing a balanced blend of flavours.

Hecks’ Bramley & Honey 6.5%
A medium cider made with fully ripe Bramley apples and honey.

Dogs
You'll see there's a dog camping zone - we're being super strict on this. It irks me somewhat to have dogs at all as I am not a fan of canine kind. There will be a zero tolerance policy on dogs not on leads and dogs will not be permitted outside the 'dog zone'.

Food
Thus far we have people providing crepes, coffee, tea, BBQ plus the onsite cafe/resteraunt. Our coffee vendors are offering to stay open 24hrs. All of them will be near the marquee as per the map.
