Post Shetland Classic Motor Show 7th-8th June
Any one interested in this?

We went two years ago in the Ami and have already entered the 2CV for this year. We'll be getting the overnight ferry from Aberdeen on the 5th arriving in Lerwick on the morning of the 6th. There's a convoy/scenic drive straight from the ferry terminal on the Friday. Then you can put your car in the show from the Friday evening and leave it there until the Sunday evening. There's a choice of indoor or outdoor parking but if you want to be able to drive away during the show choose the latter.

Unfortunately the campsite in Lerwick, right next to the show, is closing down so we've booked a holiday cottage. There is another campsite 8 miles to the north. After the show we plan to drive to the northern most part of Unst (the northern most island) to view the Muckle Flugga lighthouse - the furthest north point of Britain. It's possible to do this in a day.

On the evening of the 11th we'll get the ferry to Kirkwall and spend a few days on the Orkney Islands.

Let me know if you'd like more info, to convoy to Abedeen or join us on 'Raid Muckle Flugga'. You can get a 30% discount code for the ferry when you register for the show - the deadline is 29th April.

Got the 2CV booked in and will be heading south for the UK's most northerly classic car show.

Two 2CVs, an Ami-6 Saloon, a LoMax 424 and a SM all grouped together. Next to the SM are two Maseratis, so the SM is bridging the two marques. :-)

So this show is a bi-annual event and last year's saw 2 2CVs, an Ami-6, a LoMax and a Series Maserati. Next year's show will be around the same time of the year. I think it'll be a cracking idea to flood the islands with Citroën's finest motorcar. So does anybody fancy a week (or longer) in the UK's most northerly group of islands? Fantastic scenery, fantastic roads, and a great classic vehicle show over two days. If so, then start planning early. As a participant of the show you'll get a 30% discount on the ferry passage, so it makes the journey quite a bit cheaper than going there as a regular traveller. :)
