LOL you speak for yourself.

The highlight of the weekend for me was when a minibus full of totty got dropped off in error by a lost Taxi driver who thought it was Somersham Rugby club. Miniskirts tiny dresses and high heels clip clopping over the venue.

Sadly there was a complete lack of single men to entertain them (the first time I have ever known this to occur) , so I had to escort them to the main road. I felt like the Hugh Hefner of 2CVGB

Another great weekend, would just like to say a massive thank you to Ken Hanna, Dad, Jack and Scott for helping me fix my car yesterday in the heat, really appreciate it! Bring on Spain :)

Yes and thank you to Sean for having a van with tools. I would still be in the field now if you hadn't had been there. All sorted now. However I now have small silent rattles I can hear.

Registers is getting a bit to much of the same for me. Its the same thing every year. Is there no way it can be moved every other year? I know its easy being there as it offers everything. But it needs somthing to change it up a bit. Parking cars in a neat and tidy line is a bit boring for me.

2cvgb needs to rethink all its annual events in my opinion.

Well presumably you're both paid up members.........and as such you have a perfect right to suggest some changes yourselves, or better still organise some. The club IS its' members, after all.

Which event were you at?

For me, Reg day is about making my own entertainment. I was more than happy to chill in a field, it was bliss. The shine n show thing is ok, and I think the club needs that for a certain part of its membership.

Next year we're mixing things up a bit. Watch this space ;)

Why not get more involved then. Rather than stand on the sidelines moaning about it, get stuck in and make some changes.

Registers day is the only "park it all up in a big shiny line and show us yer shit" event in the 2CVGB event calendar and it was great to bling some people right up for bringing some interesting shit into the sunshine.

Standard

Its also a good opportunity for members to meet the club officers, (although why Sam kept running away and hiding from some of them is a mystery  )

Since nobody can read your mind, you could just come along to either a committee meeting or write a letter to Sam and say what you want.

Trouble is, when we ask what do you want from us, people are quite vocal, ask them to help us make that a reality and its all whistling and hands in the pockets time.

I'm announcing my retirement from Register of Registrars after 15 years of being involved with the registers and 6 years of the 2CVGB committee at the AGM this year. I will not restand at the 2014 AGM, so someone else can have a go. They will have to organise an event that pleases both the old school 2CV types who what camping, larks, beer etc with the more serious classic car nut who wants displays, a proper car show trophies etc. So I wish them luck.

There were two 2cv based events this weekend, one which was free and reasonably local, one the other end of the country. One involved excitement, free booze and food, the other was registers day. What would you do? I'm not moaning, but every year it's the same events with seemingly dwindling numbers. If new stuff started happening I might be tempted to join again, and no, I'm not joining and trying to change it all myself, I don't have the time or the inclination.

What sort of "new stuff" would tempt you?
