Ditto,
mind you, went to the tractor dealers at Howden this afternoon to pick up a new bottle of welding gas and they were closed, with 3" of flood water covering the shop floor and a foot or so depth in some areas of the car park.

The electricity was off as well, so they had a couple of diesel pumps filling bowsers to be hauled away with the fleet of tractors which are usually lined up outside. :(

Not all gloom and doom though, as one of the young mechanics was riding around through the flood with a bicycle fitted with one of these, having a great time...

Neil and I are all packed and both cars loaded up, we are going to leave here once the rush hour traffic has died down around half nine ish I guess. As yet the 425 hasnt been road tested with the heavily laden tat rack on it's roof but I doubt we are likely to see much over 40mph out of it. I reckon I will actually arrive in tears. My road looks like Ripleys scrap yard. You know when you see news footage of poor refugees fleeing their homes with all their worldly possessions strapped to some old banger? That's what we look like. Ah well. It's almost a year since our last 2cv meeting, so assuming I get there before it's all over then I am looking forward to seeing everybody now, regardless of the weather.

Have fun y'all.

Unfortunately, I can't make it for many reasons, some of which are even plausible!

From Rob Clark (Boulanger) via facebook:

"Message for my 2cv buddies: if anyone is worried about the weather and Reg Weekend, then fear not. The camping field is really well drained and doesn't tend to get muddy, the worst of the rain should pass later today, and there are excellent toilets, showers, and a large dry entertainments barn and bar open all weekend."

Well it is tipping it down here at the moment, but the forecast is for the worst of it to have cleared by the afternoon. Fingers crossed!

As Rob says, the site drains well and there is plenty of shelter in the barn, where you can also purchase some fine ale as supplied by the cheery landlord Steve from Portland Arms pub in Cambridge (free plug)

Wish I was going. :( Dyane is on the road with brake fluid leaking everywhere, I'm waiting in for a nice new set of brake pipes for it which I'll have to fit in the pissing down rain this weekend once I've finished the Land Rover and got it off the drive. And I've got to go to work tonight.

I had a good weekend, thanks to Matt and all the organisers, weather didn't spoil things too much, well pleased with me little 425, espescially on the way home today, when I managed a satnav-indicated 69mph.

I didn't take many pictures, so if anybody else has some, could they post 'em up please?
