Busy man!

I can't look at houses in and around Birmingham if I'm galavanting around Wales now can I?!

Besides I need to actually do the points and timing on the Ami before I use it much more.

Furry nuff Jon. Shame Wales won't be treated to the wonder that is your Ami but as you say, houses are quite handy things to have.

Have spoken to the pub today. They're opening specially for us. I think we'll be eager to tuck into some hot grub!

It's okay, it was in Wales for a bit on New Years Day.

What's the menu and pricing at the pub? Will the pub cope with the amount of people likely to turn up? It's one of the reasons I can't be bothered to do Tan Hill any more.

Sorry, I don't have a copy of the menu. RSA is a smaller convoy than Tan Hill, so there should be no problems with food, though I wouldn't expect instant service. I doubt it'll be pricey.

Last time I did Tan Hill, it was a lot better. It's improved a lot since they started using the barn on the back.

I've got to agree with Ian. I was there on Sunday again and I was amazed how quickly and efficiently they got everybody fed.

Just like last year.

And the year before.
:D

Got back home at half seven after 300miles since half seven this morning. Headed to Melbicks Garden Centre near Coventry for an 8:30am departure and met up with Mark350 and his mate in Mark's 350 van  and a couple in a red Spesh who's names have now escaped me  So with 2 cars and a van we set off and used the M6 and M54 to Shrewsbury Services on the A5. Personally speaking, I think the speed along the M6/M54 was a tad bit too fast, would have been happier to stick to 55-60 instead of 65-70 and overtaking every lorry, but hey-ho. Had a nice egg and bacon roll washed down with a lovely black coffee at Dobbies Garden Centre at the services. By the time we left Shrewsbury Services at half ten we had picked up another two 2CVs and a Mehari, along with another 2CV that joined us on the M6 at Birmingham. Got to Bala Lake for 12:10pm and met up with the rest of the convoy which started at Rhayader, and we then convoyed to the Sportsmans Arms. The less said about the pub, the better. Lets just say the food was over priced and quite poor, and the toilets were.... well, the less said. Best part of the whole day was the drive back to Bala and the convoy up to Bwych-Y-Groes and down the other side (for those who turned back, it was bloody steep and my brakes knew it!! :o  ). Averaged 43mpg too :)

I have to agree with you Jonathan. While I was glad the pub opened specially for us, I wonder about raiding a not-so-high bit of Wales next year. Glad we just made Bwlch y Groes for the sunset! As for the hill coming down, I cooked by brakes there in November so took it a little easier this time! Glad folks had fun. Photos will follow, but probably not until tomorrow.
