Post Raid Sportsmans Arms - Wales - Sat 14th Jan
In the spirit of "I meant to do this months ago, is it really this weekend?!", I cordially invite you to join us for Raid Sportsmans Arms as we head to the highest inn in Wales. There may be sheep.

Route 1
Departs Melbicks Garden Centre, A452 off Jct 4 of the M6, 8:30am departure.
Departs Shrewsbury Services (A5) at 10:30am.

Route 2
Departs Rhayader, mid-Wales at 9:30am

We're aiming for the two routes to converge on Bala Lake for around 11:30am-12pm, then a short convoy to The Sportsmans Arms near Denbeigh for lunch and warmth. There has been talk about heading out to tackle the incredibly scenic Hellfire Pass after lunch.

The Rhayader route from mid-Wales will probably (um, really, I'm not making this up as I go along, honest!) tackle the super-scenic B4518, which heads through many unpronounceable places. My initial planned route has been blighted by lengthy roadworks.

Any questions, drop me a PM either here or on t'2CVGB forum or even the 'Friends of 2CVGB' Facebook page.

Will do Russ. I still remember your water-hooning on the lake a few years back!

I might do this, time/weather dependant. Hopefully see you there. I'll be starting from Bala if I end up going.

Yep, we'll be there - even though it means starting the day with 16miles in the wrong direction!

Good stuff! Charles is leading the Midlands convoy over from Melbicks. See you at Bala for the final leg! Weather forecast is very good.
