Post National 2010, any updates?
I remember reading that the Bathtubclub had to pull out of organsising the 2010 National, not sure why. It's a shame because they did an awesome job of the Mehari camp last year, was good fun.

Any updates on who's taking it on?

I heard that due to economic pressure etc.that the ideas been passed around are that the international will be cancelled next year and funds will be diluted through to local clubs to support more low key camps as so to get back to grass roots smaller back to basics events.
This is similar to the retro camps that the europeans are putting on.
So we will have to see what happens

ha! lets get the money that's being diluted and piss it up the wall!

Interesting stance though if that's the case, the london/brighton was one of the best attended for a few years, despite nobody having any money...

I hope there is one. What's the point in being a national club if we can't have an official yearly meet? Has the 2CVGB membership suddenly gone down?

No, I don't think 2cvgb has lost loads of members and frankly, I doubt whether a rescession/credit crunch will stop people going to 2cv meetings.

Do we have any 2cvgb commitee members here to comment so this isn't jusr hear say? (pure and simple)

Im in the middle of trying to write a National meeting folder with all the things that you need to think about if you want to organise one and Jack if u want to have a read of all ive done so far* then you will realise you need a LOT more than a field and a big tent lol

*11 spider diagrams that are packed and lots of notes on health and safety/toilets/first aid even I didnt realise how much goes into one

Living with the 2CVGB events co-ordinator, I've not heard any talk of the National not happening, just no-one's come forward yet! There isn't any money being distributed to local groups, and generally it doesn't cost anything to host a small camp behind a pub anyway! Still looking for someone to come forward to organise, or help organise 2010, so if enough people on here are interested, get in touch!

Wal, weren't you planning to host the North Wales National? ;)
