Ideally we would like a back to basics camp. Find a field owner of some sort. (Non in mind yet) Get a party tent or two.

We don't want a pub or anything, we would bring in the beer ourselves, maybe a keg or 8.

When we say about the greenlaning i would love to get a real full day out of it. Stop somewhere half way, maybe a pub meal?

Location we arnt fully sure yet. Ideally midlands, but wales will be more garunteed green laning.

It's the bonfire that's the important bit though ... is there any way around that one in this litigious age?

Hopefully there will be. We need to sort out a suitable route - of which we have a few possibilites. When we're happy with that, then the search will be on for a field & a suitably open minded farmer within a reasonable distance!

A big old fire would be sweet, and I'm fairly sure it's possible to do nowadays, health and safety isn't the complete fun-stopper we tend to think it is.

Well, I don't have a great deal of spare time, but I'm happy to go and check out any potential sites if they're not too far from Ross on Wye. I can check out any green lanes too, but bear in mind my only vehicle at the moment is a Daihatsu Fourtrak, which may give a misleading impression as to how easy a lane is in 2CV terms.

We currently have 3 possible routes. All ranging differently. Some very long 50/50 roads/ green lanes and some short 70/30 green lanes / roads.

I thnk the site will be the hardest bit.

Whereabouts are the routes? If they're in Gloucestershire or the Cotswolds I might be able to try and find a good site.

That's the trouble - there doesn't seem to be *that* much around that area. The possibilities we have are more easterly - Bear in mind we've only just started searching for possible routes, so given a a bit more time we may turn something up around that area.

As we all know, finding a decent site to host a back to basics camp is half the battle!
