First saw Fairport Convention in 1971, last time 5 years ago. They still sound good. Dead jealous about you going.

I've been to Cropredy about nine times and kept all of the wrist bands too. Seen some fantastic acts there - Robert Plant, Dubliners, Denis Lecorriere, Richard Thompson, and so on. Status Quo (that well known folk duo) are on this year and I'm giving serious thought to going, not on the motorbike but in the 2CV.

Just seen Dave Swarbrick on the One Show on the BBC.

We had Status Quo at the Cognac Blues festival year before last. Not my kind of music but they were a class act. Played for two hours without a pause between songs. Not bad for two geezers over 60 who have had interesting lives.

That's a great line-up. Easy Star All-Stars are absolutely BRILLIANT, and at the risk of killing off what's left of my street cred I've seen Status Quo four times, one of the best live shows you'll EVER see, fan or not. If I hadn't already got two weekends away planned for August I'd be there like a shot.

Dave Swarbrick. What a fiddler. He has the rare distinction of having his obituary prematurely published in a broadsheet. A few years ago he had radical surgery and can now breath unaided. He used to have to use an oxygen cylinder in stage after too many years chain smoking all sorts of tobacco ;) Still a class act.

Played footy with him on Ainsdale beach after an outdoor gig there in the summer of 1971

Haha, you lot are too cool. Well, I'm gonna get my ticket, so I'd say the more the merrier. Should be a good lark! I'm sure they'd love to see lots of 2CVs :)
