Post Fancy a _proper_ trip...?
I've received an email from the organisers of the Raid Bamako last month...

Quote:

Cordialement

Hubert & Pierre (whoever they may be) are putting together an event based around Raid Persepolis, to celebrate 40 years of Raid Kabul this summer.

Contact hpy36@orange.fr if you're interested or know anybody who might be.

You know you want to.

Yes indeed.. however planning own Persepolis re-run in 2011 when that raid will have its 40th anniversary. Probably a popular idea as the original Kaboul and Africa raids are logistically quite tricky.

I will be getting in touch with these guys so cheers for posting the info.

not sure UK passport holders would be too welcome to be honest, could be fun though.

normal Irainians are ok with us Brits. Borders and officals would be the problem

bugger! Persepolis is on my must do before i die list so am now very tempted to claim my Irish pasport and go, but suspect, as with the last persepolis trip i was booked on, a US task force will be in there 6 months before hand( and no doubt blindly followed into the resulting shitstorm by the UK) spoiling the fun :(

Spooky!
after sending the above message lost broadband for 20 mins

THEY ARE WATCHING US! the combination of "US taskforce" "iran" "do before i die"and "irish national" has spoiled somebodys morning coffee at GCHQ

oh theres a black delivery van at the door must go

Just say that you are planning to assisinate Tony Blair or Gordon Brown and this big red light comes on at RAF Menwith Hill.

admittedly its never quite as bright when Gordon Brown is mentioned.

I've got Jewish family and a suspiciously bulbous nose so I think i'll steer clear... I'd love to go to Iran, looks like a lovely country.
