 Re: Salbris 2011
Fighting for a camping space you were allowed to camp in, no water, a mile drive for a cold shower, silence at 10pm with grave consequences for those who didn't obey, car keys taken off of people, being manhandled out of cars by the organizers, a disco with a tiny bar and no lights which was a good drive from the camping area were all the things the organizers did wrong, combined with frost and my testicles going catastrophically wrong didn't make for my idea of a good week away, and less so a good 2cv camp. I'm pretty sure it was a rare low point, but the niggle that salbris might be the same still plays on my mind.

I think warm weather and anti-catastrophic-testicle-FAIL measures were items two and three on the Salbris organisers' to-do list, based on feedback received at Giel. Item one was, so I heard, a firm resolution not to deploy 'La police Fun' ever again. We live in hope. I am looking forward to Salbris (just not mega-excited yet) - I honestly don't think it will be anything like Giel in terms of atmosphere - although I'm not banking on super-slick organisation. Just saying... hope to be proved wrong.

 Re: Salbris 2011
Received my ticket for this yesterday, they must have their heads screwed on I reckon, Jack and I send our email confirmations off in seperate envelopes and maybe half a week apart but both tickets arrived yesterday in the same envelope.
(I like attention to detail therefore impressed me a little)

 Re: Salbris 2011
My ticket arrived yesterday as well. I was pleased to see that the leaflet that came with it has a picture of my Dad's green and white D*lly in it!
Am I excited about Salbris? No, not yet. It's months away, and there are many things happening sooner. I am looking forward to it, but the buzz of excitement won't come until a few days or so beforehand.
What do I expect from Salbris? To have a damn good time in a field with thousands of other 2cvers, and a bunch of my best friends. As always with WMs though, I expect I will have to queue for a cold shower, and I expect the toilets to be (literally) shite. If I don't have to queue to get clean, and if the toilets are decent, then I'll consider it a bonus!
