Its not looking good, I'm afraid... damage limitation is taking place.
Rumour has it that the Mauri/Moroc border is now closed and also Mauri/Mali border on our route. That leaves shipping and huge costs. Some people are sticking their cars on to a ship that will arrive in Dakar on the 29th December.. we are not keen with this.. Its not what we signed up for; Africa Rally not Africa Regatta.
Its not good and Team Absolute Citroen are gutted and hugely disappointed.. but we WILL return! The Walmington is desperate for adventure and I know we will sign up for a future raid.. maybe a 2CV only one.
(However there is the slim chance we may still go to Western Sahara for a Christmas beach party)
Thank you to everyone who has offered support and advice.

It'll be fine Ru, we're right behind you... no really we will be. We're heading for Sierra Leone, so we're having the same dilemma, but we've got to go through Guinea as well which also seems to be kicking off a bit at the moment. If we had any sense we probably wouldn't be going, but we still are.
Thank you Joolz and good luck with whatever you are planning... you do realise that the military have gone bonkers and the president has been shot in Guinea?
