I posted this elsewhere, so apologies if you're reading this twice. Anyway - last Feb I bought this:

knowing that it'd need a chassis. Unfortunately, it turned out it needed a lot more than just that. Mr Pembro turned up from Mr Chapman's place one sunday morning with a fantastic hangover, and we swapped the body onto a new SLC chassis. Then the real work began ;) inner/outer bulkhead, front sill sections, two new floors, a posts, c posts, seatbelt mounts and some paint gives us this:

need to rub down the wings and bit of polish but it's there at last. The paint is rollered on Rustoleum - I thought it'd be a cuivre indien (sp?) but turned out to be B&Q orange :D but I'm happy with it. Couple of places that I'd have done better if I had the time, but I've gotta get it on the road asap.

I need to do something with the bumpers, but I don't know what. Any ideas? I'd like something adventure bar-ish, but I dunno.

wow! what a difference! I love the colour, reckon some Louis type bumpers would look sweet on it, like these:

I gotta say that looks the mutts! 8-)

I bet I can't get such a good looking paint job with my compressor and decent spraygun as that looks! :(

I'm with Neil too, Louis bumpers would look good on that.

I've gotta confess. The doors and bootlid were painted by a mate who has a proper paintbooth. The body, wings and bonnet were rollered on by my fair hand :)

I like Louis' rear bumper, but I'm not keen on the hops on the front bumper. But then, I've seen them without the hops and I don't really like the look either. Hmmm - maybe a traditional adventure bumper up front and a louis rear one?

I reckon you could add some hoopage to a standard front bumper and it'd look ace. There was a blue 2cv with yellow wheels that had a raid style bumper with massive hoops (chuckle!) which looks offically safe as, it's in one of the old 2cv books, rom back in the day, it makes me happy.

Or, drop it, front spoiler, WIN?

wait a minute - why was I typing hops? I think I've lost it. Maybe I shouldn't have stood in the spraybooth without a mask on after all! :D

I've got a load of old 2cv books kicking around, I'll take a look. And Mr Spanners - you'll probably have an email shortly.
