In Nijmegen, Holland, are 2 steel Ami Service fenders for sale:

€250 for the pair. Swapping for good normal fenders is also an option ;)

The gearbox, which has been really noisy since I bought the car, and really really really noisy since last weekend, has finally died.

RIP NAL 202E. It'll be a fair while before it see's the road again. :(

I've got two spares, drum brake gearboxes...
One is seized, the other one came out of my car...

Thanks man, I have also got two spares, but I don't have the time to rebuild all the brakes on them and fit them, I will put all my time into finishing my 2cv and hopefully spend a lot of time rebuilding the ami to make it really nice again.

:( Badtimes, sorry to hear this Mr Russ. Hope you get the spesh done soon and can get mobile, then spoil the Ami a bit, and replace that box.

Once I bought an acadianne with a busted box for about 500FF (£50) and got a box from the scrapyard, and while still planning to do the swap, the box in my car exploded quite spectacularly so I was stuck, two cars with not a single working gear between them. Thats how I ended up with a too tall Dyane box in my car for a year or two...

Stick with it and you'll get through, the panels look good in place on the spesh, you'll soon have it done with your excellent rep for welding.
