Took the 2CV out for the first time in a month this afternoon. It started with the first turn of the key and I returned an hour later with another 40 miles added. I then took the Morris out for a 20 mile pootle. It was last used last Sunday when I took it over to The Old Bull, Inkberrow, for the spring meeting of the Vintage (Morris) Minor Register (VMR).

The Deuche has been sat, unused, since my previous post (7th May). Yesterday afternoon I threw the cover off it, connected the battery, and after a few cranks of the starter it fired into life and I put another 15-20 miles on the clock.

The 2CV has thankfully managed to scrape through the MOT without a fail earlier in the week. It's only done 930 miles in the last 12 months!! As a reward for passing first time around I'm having a full set of brand new road wheels fitted. The current ones were bought new almost 20 years ago and have rusted quite badly in recent years... probably not helped by spending 7 years in the salty climate of the Shetland Islands  I'm also in dire need of a new hood. The current one has been on the car since 2008 and has started to split along the edges.

I'm sure there are cars that do less miles :)

For context I bought the car in April 2002 with 70,100 miles on the clock; it's now on 275,200 miles. In the early years I was putting 25k miles on it every year.
