It's not too much of an issue as long as I can get through tomorrow or Wednesday. I'm heading down to Aberdeen overnight on Saturday and driving down to the south Midlands on Sunday/Monday. The idea is to order the stuff I want then pop in as I pass Stafford. 8-)

Wow, that's clever, as anything you forget, you can pick up on the way back.

I've ordered stuff from Roy at ECAS, and I'll be collecting it all on Monday as I pass by Stafford on my way south. I've had to order a new exhaust swan neck, torpedo, and tailpipe, as the torpedo section has broken. I've done a very good bodge which should get me down to Worcestershire without failing and making a racket. One thing that has been bugging me far more regularly than I wish is the exhaust clamp right next to the alternator on the manifold keeps coming loose! I've had to retighten it again this afternoon. I'll be binning the standard type clamps and fitting the Burton manufactured replacements instead.

The car has been running and driving exceptionally well all through the Spring and Summer so I'm really looking forward to the journey south. Hood fully open I hope.

You won't regret the burton clamps :)

So it has been nice and dry all week, but today when I want it to be so, it is bloody raining!! The 2CV is packed and ready for the 60-mile journey down to Lerwick, with two ferry crossings to catch. Once in Lerwick I'll be boarding the bigger Northlink Ferries 'MV Hrossey' and heading down to Aberdeen overnight. Tomorrow I'll be driving down to the Midlands.

Burton claps are 100 times better than the original ones !
Fitted them last april and they are easy to fix and fit very well.

how long does it take you to get to Worcestershire ?

I'm currently on the ferry and arrive in Aberdeen at 7am. It's a 450-mile drive to Worcestershire. If I push the old girl I could do it in around 7hrs, but I've arranged to arrive at my friend's house around half four, five o'clock-ish, so taking it easy.

I'm back home after two weeks away. The 2CV needed a little bit of TLC in readiness for the MOT, but got through ok on the day. Will likely need a bit more TLC next year but I'm going to save up to throw a pile of cash at it. Shetland climate is definitely not kind to the old girl.

One thing that I've always wanted is a narrow headlamp bar as the wide one with round lamps just looks wrong. As the bar had to be removed for work to the engine (trying to get to the bottom of an oil leak), the opportunity was too good to ignore. Measurements were taken from a post from this forum going back to the early days and took ages to find  Two inches has been removed from both ends, so lamps are four inches closer together.

The photos were taken from the Twitter page of JAC Autos who did the work.
