Yesterday was fine here too. However no time for my 2CV . Today it is cloudy ,wet and damp . Hope this weather does not keep for long, because I am fed up with the dull and grey , wet weather. Send us some sunny pictures from Shetland , please. |

That was lucky! Had both the 2CV (with hood fully open) and the 1932 Morris outside in the sunshine earlier. Did a bit of tinkering with the Morris, which hasn't been outside since Sept, then gave the garage a good spring clean. Put both cars away and then it snowed. Phew! |

Wasn't quite so lucky yesterday. I took a trip down to Lerwick and enjoyed a lovely sunny drive down and back until I returned to Unst. The last 8 miles was completed through a raging blizzard!! It was a complete white-out. |

On Sunday 13th March 2016 I had new barrels and pistons fitted to the engine at exactly 249,900 miles. Today the car reached 259,900 miles. I think I can safely say the new barrels and pistons have bedded in by now. The car is running really sweet at the moment, so I'm very happy with it. |

It's exactly 30 years since my 2CV rattled down the production line in Mangualde, Portugal. Has been a decent Spring day here today, so celebrated with a commute to work. We have some contractors up here at the moment installing new underground cables for SSE Scottish Hydro and they opened the surface of the access road during the day, so I spun the car around and mounting a curb I took to the grass and over a ditch to get onto the road to enable me to get home. Wouldn't have been able to do that in the Golf. |

Yesterday I popped over to the island of Fetlar. I've lived in Shetland five years now and I'd only visited Fetlar once before and that was on foot, so I took the Deuche over so I could explore a bit more. When I parked at Tresta Beach I found the remains of this side-valve engine block which I've been able to identify as a 1920s Morris Cowley (either the Bullnose model or the later Flatnose). I know quite a few Cowleys were registered new in Shetland back in the day, so it'll be interesting to pop into Shetland Archives and see if I can discover the identity of the car the engine sat in. There can't have been many cars that ended up on Fetlar before WWII.

Out for a pootle around the island of Unst in the Shetland Islands. A view of Burrafirth Beach. I've spent some time prepping the car ready for the Shetland Classic Motor Show this weekend. Heading down to the event at Clickimin Leisure Complex in Lerwick on the ferries tomorrow morning. EDIT:You can just about make out the brand spanking new MOD/RAF Radar Dome on the top of Saxa Vord Hill in the top left-hand corner of the photo. Was constructed over the last winter.
