BTW, I often champion Michelin X tyres on the forum, but after last year's MOT highlighted two tyres were close to 2mm I decided to get a pair of 125 Xs to replace the Toyos fitted. The car has done less than 5k miles since, and both Michelin tyres are right on the border, so I've asked for Toyos to be fitted. It's criminal that Michelin thinks they can use poor quality rubber and get away with it. A sad day.

Hmm,
I'm guessing that those Michelins were fitted on the front?
If so, has the tracking been checked, since rapid tread wear is a criticism of Michelins I've not heard previously.
Usually, it's early deterioration of the sidewalls...

There's a degree of extra wear on the outer edge of each tyre, but they have also worn right across the width of the tread.

Pretty much ready to pick up. Has a fresh MOT as of this morning. I use an Android app called Vehicle Smart and have my cars in 'My Garage' on the app. It's linked to the DVLA, so has the details of tax and MOT for each car. When the date for renewal is approaching, I get an alert on my phone. I opened the app this morning around 11am and it was showing as MOT'ed for another year, so I rang Peter and he was just sorting out an oil change and plugs. I'll pop round in the morning. :)

Nowhere near as bad as expected/feared, but far from immune.

I think you need to check the tracking. Because I bought two new Michelin X for my trip to the world meeting in Portugal, and home after almost 7000 miles, they look almost like new. They were mounted at the front.
So the Michelin's get a thumb up from me!

Indeed, most probably toed-in rather than (slightly) toed-out on Jonathan's 2CV, given the wear on the outer edges of both tyres.
The worst I've ever found was almost 20mm toed-in, goodness only knows what the person involved thought they were doing...

Perhaps I should drop by for you to check the car over as I make my way back to Aberdeen on Wednesday ;)

Has been a busy day behind the wheel of the Deuche. I've been over to Stratford-upon-Avon, visiting Shakespeare's birthplace and other spots associated with the great bard, and I've been down to the ARTists' meeting in Bristol this evening. I'm back at the hotel in Droitwich now.
