Steering Arm Solution.
Welding seems a bit final, a potential solution is fit 8mm HT bolts and wire them, then you can take em off if you need to.

Surely that doesn't help much if the threads are stripped though?

The standard bolts are 7mm, which is OK, BUT if things come loose it damages the seat and the bolts. So bit of drilling and tapping to take the 8mm bolts and it saves the hub.

With just 4 weeks to go, before I head for Waggel and French Nat. I'll be getting a new set of tyres up front. If I can, I'll go for 135 XZ Michelins to replace the Mabors(which are very good, but not Michs), to go with the set on the back. I'm just going to check prices on ECAS. :D

Bought a pair on Michelin ZX 135s today, cost £95 each :o , so I hope they will last a lifetime ;) Car feels much nicer with them on, though I have'nt given it some beans yet, I want to ensure the tyres have bedded in. Have also bought a set of stainless hubcaps, just to add a little bit of zing. I'm not spending any more now till after I come back from Holland & France(unless I see something worth buying for it at one or both meetings ;) )

You should've popped over Taff, I've got somewhere in the region of about 60 of those bloody wheel trims-you could've picked through and had a free set! :P

Ah well, never mind. I needed to get the captive nuts anyway and the tyres, so it was not much more for the trims. Cheers anyway.

PS: Do you have an original flasher unit? You know the type "Warning-Made in France". I may be able to reconnect my indicator warning light with a Citroen unit. Gracias muchísimo.

I would say I almost certainly have an original "Warning, made in France" flasher relay. Shall I bring to Wasps or would you like to come round and laugh at me welding the biggest piece of shit G&W D*lly ever? ;)
