Re: My 2cv
Another nice afternoon today, so I took a run down to Muness Castle (most northerly castle in the UK).

Just use google translate to have a good laugh: http://translate.google.com/translate?u ... l=nl&tl=enhttp://translate.google.com/translate?h ... &sandbox=1ken wrote: Isn't there a song about that? Something along the lines of "When will they ever learn?". So, that's Simon Scarth's battery support bracket copied, the same for Daras Rich's mirror surround gaskets. Might be stepping on the wrong toes with the Burton boys, though... Lenny wrote: I bought some cheaper ones that looked just like the Burton ones from 2cv City. Unfortunately the bolts they were supplied with were made out of cheese so don't be tempted to go down that route.

Re: My 2cv
Interesting articles - clearly the judge has never tried to get a gas tight seal using Citroen original clamps on old exhaust flanges rather than the cracking Burton ones - they certainly are majorly different in design than the Citroen ones but more fool Burton for not copyrighting them in the first instance.....

Re: My 2cv
You mean these, when talking about Burton exhaust clamps? Yes, they are good, indeed. But not designed by Burton... Those type clamps was used with Citroen on DS at 50's, and Maserati's from same era etc, etc. So, how Burton could copyright them..? Friend of my is rebuilding -73 Maserati Merak, and there was lost some of these clamps on its former life. We were quite sure we had seen those, and when we looked on his -57 DS engine bay, we just recall that. After that, there wasn't any issue to find those, he had plenty of 50's DS parts on his garage, and we couldn't see any difference between Maserati 70's and Citroen 50's clamps...

Re: My 2cv
Like mentioned before, the initial design of those clamps wasn't done by Burton. Something like a pot and a kettle. But then they also keep pretending that they are the biggest car factory in the Netherlands, while they're a company that assembles kitcars and let's produce parts for a kitcar, and the car's it's based upon. Re: My 2cv
I've given the 2CV a good clean and polish. I even removed the carpet and gave it a good vacuum. The only thing I need to do now is find my tube of AutoSol metal polish to do the aluminium (grill and Robris spats). I'm going to pop down to Lerwick tomorrow, and I'm seriously considering using the Deuche for a change.
