 1972 Ami 8 Club Saloon
It's about time I posted about my new car. I saw it on eBay 3 weeks ago. It wasn't too far away, and as I've never owned an Ami before, I decided I must have it. A quick trip up to Oldham, and a deal was done. The gearbox was very noisy, but it's much better after I changed the oil, and the engine had a major oil leak, which happily turned out to just be the oil pressure light switch. I'm gradually improving it, and improving its running, but it's already a lovely old bus to drive (and so very different to the 2cvs and Acadiane I'm more used to driving). The centrifugal clutch is bloody marvelous. Here's a couple of pictures (in which it looks much better than in real life, as it's actually been painted with a roller at some point). Apparently, it used to be owned by the late Dave Shove.

Nice. Amis are better than Dyanes in the same way that Dyanes are better than 2cvs.
