Post My Beduino
Hi Everyone

I'm sure you have all met the Bedouin in the past from Bertie's brave efforts to rescue her, so I'll not dwell on her history.

Earlier this year, I had the idea of running her on LPG. Bits were bought and eventually installed and she ran. Just not all that well. When I got it sweet at WOT she would not idle. If I got the idle right, she tended to run badly across the range. Not being sure if the issue also included the ignition timing, I decided to do what every sane person would do, and go for LPG FI. This would solve all my (automotive) problems, this was the answer!

So I started looking into programmable ECU's. The budget ones were still scary expensive! Then I came across Speeduino.

As I was explaining to my brother-in-law, Speeduino is a shield board for an Arduino. So he looked up Arduino on his phone and said 'oh, its like a raspberry pie'. Yes I said, 'like they may use in a washing machine' he said, yes I said, all I have to do is find the fast spin setting and I'm sorted.

Speeduino comes in a variety of flavours including the option to populate the PCB yourself. Being electronically challenged, and actually wanting it to work, I sent away (Australia) for the populated board. :D

To be continued .....

Can,t wait..

Megasquirt units are sold for 150,- euro. I guess yours will be more expensive.

Also I think arduino isnt fast enough to do all the things original megasquirt does... So please proof me I'm wrong .

It is probably because I am using my phone. I'll dig out my laptop and try that. 8-)

Apologise for the lack of progress on this project, but I've decided to get my bike on the road first so I can have a second vehicle as a back up.

Turns out the bike is needing considerable tlc :)
