I know it doesn't look much different, but...

finally managed to move in sort of  . Daisy says I can store the seats in the spare room, can't understand why she's in such a good mood as she's 10 days into 'Dry January' .

It doesn´t look any different at all. ;)

Nice sunny day so it was time to start the 2020 Bodyshell repair Season.

The Speedo and the instrument cluster came out easily.

As you know, vehicle electrics is not my strong suit, so some reference shots may help later.

Before removing the loom I had to get rid of more of that infernal sound deadening stuff that acts like a flamin' poultice (it just encourages rust) I hope you know of some alternative acoustic matting that I can replace this with :?:
The loom was tricky to get out because three parts of it meet behind the instrument box (welded in situ and non negotiable  ) I could only see a way of removing it into the car. Needs to be warm weather for reinstall.

Finally it was time to start cleaning up around the fresh air scoop? scuttle? This must come off as I need to repair corrosion behind it.

But before I drill out the spotwelds, I will measure where it is now so it'll go back OK. Is the pressing in it to clear the spare wheel if fitted in the engine compartment? Seems a funny place to put a wheel to me :) .

Yes it's for the spare wheel.
