Re: Yellow Dyane
Nice job. I had an oil leak on my 2cv in france once. It came through the oil pressure switch. I was on a camping in france. Lucky the citroen head dealer of the region still had one new sender in stock...

Re: Yellow Dyane
The old 2cv has only 3mm felt on the inside of the firewall, i don't think it's too loud...

P1030908 by Robndaisy, on Flickr So I bought this from ECAS, it's by Burton. Comes with a bracket for the electric socket, J clips, bolts and washers. P1030912 by Robndaisy, on Flickr It fits where the bumper brackets live and I had to drill four holes (two each side) to make it fit Ken's SLC chassis. Took me an hour and a bit longer to wire it up, was a a bit tricky holding the tow bracket and the bumper whilst engaging the bolts but hey... P1030914 by Robndaisy, on Flickr Looks tidy, now ready to go and collect the trailer I've bought from ebay, and Erde 102. It's only 75 miles away in Pershore Worcestershire.

Re: Yellow Dyane
Well done, i used the jack to push the tow hook to the chassis while bolting it on. My dad always had a tennis ball on the tow hook and nobody played tennis. The dog came home with tennis balls sometime. never knew where he found that...

Re: Yellow Dyane
A quick update, as the landrover is still undergoing work and I sold the Vitara, the Dyane is my only car on the road now. Had some rattling sounds and this was the big nuts holding the suspension cylinders to the chassis being loose. I thought I had tightened them when rebuilding but maybe I hadn't So reset them and all is good now. Then the car became difficult to start and would cut out and took ages to restart. I thought it was the carb but decided to replace the coil and check the ignition system first before fiddling with the carb. Got the ignition to be correct and moved on to strip the carb , blow out jets and passages etc. no different so finally stole the carb from the 2CV which is different from the original on the Dyane. Total transformation, starts easily and seems faster! As I am retired now and walking the Wales Coast Path, the car has been in constant use ferrying me to various places by the sea. It's running really well. The long pins that hold the tailgate to the bodyshell kept working loose but that was an easy fix with some metal tent pegs and little split pins. Fitted the rear seat which folds down, I didn't know that! Gearbox crunches into first from standstill and also reverse, may steal the gearbox from the 2CV I might get some Belgian arms as the suspension arms are pretty worn, I had to weld shrink one of them during the rebuild but there's wear again I Must do some rust protection before the Winter Salt season begins but all in all very happy with it.

Re: Yellow Dyane
All the very best for the holiday season guys, I took the Dyane to London recently to visit my son, apart from the handbrake lever going over because I neglected to adjust it properly and the throttle sticking briefly, it went well. Coming back thru the floods we had it made it ok. Apart from the dyane which is my only daily driverm the landrover continues to do the heavy lifting/towing duties, see you in 2025.
