And they share some hinges of the yoder type. And the were both introduced in 1948.

How are doing, long time no news from the Dyane or landrover front.
Bye the way did see a new defender today with all kind of kit bolted on, what an ugly vehicle.

Thanks for asking,

I've just got back to Wales after six weeks down in Portugal. Daisy has moved from the Algarve to Central Portugal where it is a lot more forested and will get more rain. It took us four journeys of five hundred miles each trip so my European driving skills are now very good :D and I loved driving the Peugeot Boxer van on almost deserted autostradas..

The Dyane continues to be my daily driver and is going very well, I nearly prefer it to the 2cv...nearly. The landrover runs but doesn't want to idle so I am visiting a farmer friend on Saturday, Mike has grown up with series threes so should be able to point me in the right direction.

In mid September the Dyane and I drove up to Yorkshire to return a gearbox to Ken Hanna. When I finished? the Dyane, the gearbox was really noisy and in need of a rebuild. I reached out to Ken who sent me (via Pete Sparrow), two boxes that he thought would be ok. One I've fitted and is good. It was time to return the other one. It was great to see him and his wife Sandra, really nice folks and of course I came back with assorted goodies, a grille muff , carb jets etc.

Oh yeah, I fitted a new Matts roof to it and replaced the side headlinings which was fun. Just need to replace the firewall soundproofing with something that doesn't hold the damp which killed the original .
The landrover has heating now that I've rebuilt the heater box and the lower dashboard, so ready for Winter :)

The 2cv is for sale for what I paid for it, £600.00 off Ebay back in 2011  .

Nice to hear from you. Yes driving portugal is great. We were there a long time ago. Still lots of old cars on the road then. We drove a very curvy road down from spain. Lots of cobbled parts. As we were at the camping we had to fasten several bolts that rattled loose on the acadiane... ;-))
