I used the old air filter to carb hose which,with some persuasion, I managed to fit without too much swearing ;) . Just need to trim the end of the hoseclip.

I still need to paint the bracket that holds the throttle spring :D .

This late Dyane has plastic headlamp bowls, there are nuts set into the back of it, rusty nuts that would never unscrew without turning in the moulding. I cut off the heads with a slitting disc and then punched out the nuts when the unit was on the bench.

The headlamp clicks into three plastic/nylon? sockets and adjustment is by moving the ballscrews fastened to the lamp in and out for alignment. one of the sockets is connected by a long cable to the control knob in the cabin that sets the lights depending on how loaded the car is.
The cables are seized just at the ends where they meet the headlamp bowl, I might see if I can shorten them, otherwise it's new ones I guess.

As you can see, it's lost one of it's lugs and the rusty cable end has bailed out.
It's got to be replaced and luckily, repro kits are available.
It's spring loaded and happy where it is.

got the cutters on it and cut it. The spring shot out but I managed to find it, a minor miracle in this mess of a shed :lol: .

The fixed sockets that were broken I drilled a 5mm. hole in them a little way and punched them out.

The left wing had battery acid corrosion and was very thin.

That's just about the distance so it looks ok ;) .
Ford Rio Brown is a passable colour. The inner wings are factory primered brown and I guess that's how they were? :?:

I went over to ECAS and picked up tyres, rims headlights etc. and also the cables to move the lamps when the car is loaded.

I get that the Dyane is a better car but there are things that compared to the brutal simplicity of earlier A series, are just more opportunities to rust or break. Still the flamer is 40 years old and nearly done :)

Thanks Pete, I've project fatigue big time now though, I just want the flamer all together and back on the road.
I think it's a combination of working 5 days 'cos my boss left and we've been unable to find a suitable replacement and a general sense of old age catching up with me :lol: .
